RPA Hospital launches private maternity wing
Private patients can access RPA’s high-quality maternity care and have priority for the new private maternity wing.
Lou and her partner Anthony have just welcomed baby Ollie in the new RPA Women and Babies private maternity wing.
“It was highly recommended here and we didn’t actually know about the private wing of the hospital. It was beautiful,” said Lou.
After moving into the inner-west area of Sydney at the beginning of the year, choosing RPA was an easy decision for the local couple, not just for the proximity but also because of the hospital’s reputation.
“It's very convenient for us and we chose Dr Morris purely because we wanted to go private and that he was head of obstetrics here,” said Lou.
“Being only 10 minutes away makes it really easy to come in and out,” Anthony said.
Families who choose to receive pregnancy care from a private obstetrician and give birth at RPA Hospital will access the outstanding maternity services delivered at RPA.
RPA Hospital has been named by Newsweek as Australia’s best hospital two years in a row.
“A really big thanks to all the staff. It was really a smooth process for us, as smooth as giving birth can be,” said Anthony.
“Everyone here has been really lovely and helpful. The midwives, they're just like top notch. We can’t credit them enough,” Anthony said.
In addition, women choosing RPA’s Private Maternity Services will have priority access to RPA’s new private maternity wing.
The wing includes a private room and ensuite, breakfast provided for the mother’s chosen support person for no extra fee, free entry to the car park via redeemable tickets. The private health insurance gap payment is also waived up to $500 per calendar year
Lou says their experience was great and staff were lovely and accommodating. The whole experience was very smooth, and they are grateful for the care they received.
RPA Women and Babies has been a leading centre for pregnancy, birth and postnatal services since 1941. The facilities include state-of-the-art neonatal intensive care services, and the hospital has a strong teaching and research focus.
The hospital is also Baby Friendly Health Initiative Accredited, where a mother’s informed choice regarding infant feeding is encouraged, respected and supported.
Families interested in accessing private maternity care must have a GP referral to an obstetrician practising at the hospital. Lear more about having your baby at RPA.
