The Media Unit should be the first point of contact for all media enquiries relating to Sydney Local Health District hospitals and facilities, staff, and services.

The following terms apply to all District hospitals and facilities, including Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Concord Repatriation General Hospital, Canterbury Hospital, Balmain Hospital, Sydney Dental Hospital, and all Community Health Centres.

Filming and photography

All media crews require permission prior to attending any location in the District. Media visitors must be respectful of the privacy of patients, visitors and staff at all times and ensure they do not obstruct staff from doing their jobs.

Supervision by District Communication or Media staff is required when on site, and staff has the right to cancel filming or photography at any time.

Site visits

All requests for site visits are managed by the Media Unit and are accommodated based on the benefit to the hospital, the staff, and the capacity to manage the request.

Specialist interviews

Our District is proud to employ experts who can speak on a wide range of research areas and specific health care issues, from healthcare staff to researchers and academics. If you require a specialist to discuss a specific topic, please email the Media Unit with your request.

Patient privacy

The privacy and safety of our patients, their family members, and carers is of the highest priority. Any media enquiries regarding patient conditions must go through the Media Unit. Patient condition reports are provided on a case-by-case basis but only with the consent of the patient or next-of-kin.
