Child Health & Development For families Child Health Information Link – CHIL Our friendly and skilled staff provide health advice and link you to our services for children aged 0-12 years. Call our Child Health Information Link (CHIL) on 02 9562 5400. For children 0-5 years Child and Family Health Nursing Growth and development checks including Blue Book milestones, breastfeeding, baby feeding, transition to solids, sleep, parenting groups. For children aged 4 years old Brighter Beginnings Free health and development checks for four year old children in early childhood services who will be starting school the following year. For children aged 9 months to 12 years Hearing Nursing checks to support healthy hearing and identify hearing problems. For children aged 0-12 years Vision Vision (eyesight) checks to support healthy eyes, including the Blue Book four year old StePS program and assessment for vision problems. For children aged 0-12 years Speech Pathology (Communication) Speech assessment and therapy including talking, listening and understanding, expressing ideas and feeding difficulties. For children aged 0-5 years Child Nutrition (Eating) Nutrition for healthy growth and development, childhood nutrition problems like healthy weight, iron problems, milk intolerance. For children aged 0-12 years Occupational Therapy Assessment and support for difficulty with everyday activities like play, self-care, colouring, cutting, writing, drawing. For children aged 0-12 years Physiotherapy Assessment and support for movement development, balance, and coordination, including sitting, crawling, walking, jumping or hopping. For children and young people 0-16 years Community Paediatrics (Medical) Paediatrician assessment of physical health, growth, and emotional development. For children aged 3-12 years Counselling (Psychology and Social Work) Support for families and caregivers with children experiencing behavioural, emotional, or social difficulties. For families with children 0-3 years Early Childhood Social Work Support for families adjusting to parenting, post-natal emotional distress, early child development and parenting groups. Community Health Services for Aboriginal Families For Aboriginal families living in Sydney Local Health District Yana Muru A free home visiting program to support parenting goals and help support healthy growth and development for babies. The team includes a Child and Family Health Nurse and Aboriginal Health Worker. Child Wellbeing & Protection Services For children and young people 0-18 years Child Protection Counselling Service Specialised counselling, social work and psychology for children and young people for violence, abuse or neglect. For children 0-13 years Child Sexual Assault Counselling Service Counselling support for children who have experienced child sexual abuse and their families, parents and carers. For children under 10 years Safe Wayz Counselling, information and support for children with sexualised behaviours, their families and carers. For children and young people 0-18 years Out of Home Care Coordination of referrals to health services, the development of health management plans and reviews and liaison with our caseworkers to meet the physical and psychological health needs of the child or young person. For children and young people Wellbeing Health In-Reach Nurse Coordinator Program Specialised child and family health, youth health and psychosocial support provided by registered wellbeing nurses. For expected parents and their families Pregnancy Family Conferencing A strengths-based, trauma informed program offered to expectant parents and their families before their baby is born. A partnership program with in partnership with NSW Department of Communities and Justice and Sydney Local Health District. For families Healthy Homes and Neighbourhoods Provides ‘whole-of-family’ care in the community to families with complex health and social care needs to help each family access the services they need. Community Health Disability Services For children, young people and adults STrIDeS – Specialised Health Team for People with Intellectual Disability Assessment and management of children, young people and adults, with an intellectual disability to improve healthcare. The team includes social workers, nurse consultant, paediatric doctors and rehabilitation specialists. For children and young people 0-18 years The Disability Specialist Unit (DSU) Assessments and support for children who may have a developmental delay or disability. The team includes psychologists, social workers, and paediatric doctors. Community Health Services for Young People and Adults For young people 12-25 years Youth Health Provides free and confidential health services in one location including counselling, case management, health promotion, nursing and medical services. Yhunger The Yhunger program is for young people aged 12 to 25 years who are looking to develop their living skills in food, nutrition and physical activity. For young people and adults Sexual Health Services Testing, treatment and counselling for sexually transmissible infections (STIs) and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), including PEP. The team includes doctors, nurses and social workers. For young people and adults living with HIV Community HIV Allied Health Services (Positive Central) Assessment and care to support the physical, social and emotional needs of people living with HIV. The team includes social workers, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and dietitians. For young people 14 years and over and adults Sexual Assault Counselling Services Counselling services for sexual violence, including childhood sexual abuse. Includes 24-hour, 7 day a week crisis counselling, medical and forensic response for sexual assault. Domestic Violence Counselling Service Counselling services for women who experience intimate partner violence.
