Sexual Assault Counselling Services

Who are we?

Counsellors.

What do we provide?

We can offer you support.

We understand that everyone is different and so is the kind of support that each person needs. Sexual violence is when someone forces or manipulates you into unwanted sexual activity without your consent or when you have consented to some acts but not others.

It can include a range of different kind of behaviours. It can be a single event, or it can be ongoing. Sometimes experiences of sexual violence are called sexual assault, rape, or sexual abuse. Sometimes you can feel confused or unsure about what you have experienced especially if drugs or alcohol are involved.

Whatever your situation, we can help. Sexual violence is never your fault. An experience of sexual violence may affect different areas of your life – how you think and feel, your relationships, your work, your study. There is no right or wrong way to think, feel or act after being subjected to sexual violence.

We hear you. We believe you.

Our counselling team sees people who have been subjected to sexual violence recently, or in the past including childhood sexual abuse. We can give you information about your options and support you to make the decisions that are best for you. We provide care and support whether you want to talk to the Police or not. We will treat you in a professional and caring way that is respectful of you regardless of your cultural background, gender identity, sexuality, and religion.

Our service is free, confidential, and non-judgemental. A Medicare card is not required to access our services.
