Canterbury Hospital Redevelopment

Overview

The NSW Government is investing $350 million in the Canterbury Hospital redevelopment to expand the facility and deliver upgrades to existing infrastructure.

The Canterbury Hospital Redevelopment will be the biggest upgrade of the hospital in 26 years. This redevelopment will ensure the facility is able to respond to the health needs of the growing community and enable our dedicated health staff to deliver high-quality care in the latest facilities.

Project status

The Early Works planning application for the Canterbury Hospital Redevelopment has now been formally approved, marking a major step forward for this significant project. This is an important step forward in delivering modern, expanded facilities to support our staff and community.

The Early Works will prepare the site for the future new hospital building and include the expansion and refurbishment of the Antenatal Clinic, more than doubling the size of the current service so families can benefit from improved facilities sooner. Construction is expected to start in the coming months.
