Canterbury Hospital Redevelopment

Overview

The NSW Government is investing $350 million in the Canterbury Hospital redevelopment to expand the facility and deliver upgrades to existing infrastructure.

The Canterbury Hospital Redevelopment will be the biggest upgrade of the hospital in 26 years. This redevelopment will ensure the facility is able to respond to the health needs of the growing community and enable our dedicated health staff to deliver high-quality care in the latest facilities.

Project status

With master planning finalised, the Canterbury Hospital Redevelopment is now in the concept design phase during which staff and community members can take look at the initial design layout.

This first design phase identifies and illustrates the relationship between clinical function, services, buildings and other facilities.

Consultation and collaboration during this phase is crucial to ensuring the proposed placement of both future and existing clinical functions support the hospital's operational needs.

The full scope of the project and indicative timing of the works will be finalised during planning and design. Staff, stakeholders, and the community will be updated as the project progresses with further consultation to continue throughout 2025.
