Less than $1 per person |
Ingredients
Ingredient list | 20 biscuits |
---|---|
Softened margarine or butter (room temperature is easiest) | 2½ tbsp |
Sugar | ¼ cup |
Egg | 1 |
Self-raising flour | 1 cup |
Whatever you've got in your cupboard (such as chopped dried fruit, choc bits, cereal, oats, nuts, ½ tsp spice like cinnamon or lollies) |
1 cup |
Equipment
Large bowl, stirring spoon, flat biscuit trays, baking paper, measuring cups and spoons.
Steps
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F/Gas mark 4) and line tray with baking paper
- Mix butter/margarine with sugar in a bowl until well combined. Add egg and mix well again
- Add flour to the mix and stir in. Then add your “whatever” ingredient(s) and stir to combine
- Spoon mix out onto tray (approximately 1 tablespoon of mixture per biscuit). Bake for approx. 10 minutes until just golden. Let biscuits cool and go hard on the tray before moving
Tips
-
Try a variation: use wholemeal self-raising flour instead of white self-raising flour (or a mix of half and half) and mix it up with your whatevs. Test out new combinations and dazzle your friends!
