Associate Professor Michelle Barakat-Johnson from RPA Virtual Hospital Wound Care Command Centre said the win was a true reflection of the team's hard work and dedication to the delivery of patient-centred care.

“On behalf of the team, we are honoured to be recognised for our hard work and dedication to wound care. A sincere thank you to our devoted consumer representative and our patients - your voices and trust have been the foundation of this journey,” she added.

Excellence in Service Delivery Award Finalist
Kalgal Burnbona School Based Integrated Care, Community Health Services

We’re also proud of the Kalgal Burnbona School Based Integrated Care (SBIC) team, which was recognised as a finalist in the Excellence in Service Delivery Award category. This innovative framework provides holistic, integrated, multidisciplinary child- and family-centred care to school-aged children to help Close the Gap. The service improves access to culturally safe health care with positive outcomes for students, families and staff.

Dr Santuri Rungan, Staff Specialist, Community Paediatrics and the project lead said the win was the result of many years of co-designing models of care with the community.

“The Kalgal Burnbona team demonstrate the powerful impact that collaboration across health, education and social care can make in the lives of children in our community. We hope the recognition in the Premier’s Awards will raise awareness for our SBIC model so it can benefit more communities across NSW,” she added.

The NSW Premier's Awards highlight and celebrate the highest levels of integrity, service and community impact delivered by the NSW public sector to the people of NSW.
