Located in the centre of the Rose Garden, the sandstone Sun Dial is thought to have been constructed around 1860 during the establishment of the wider garden area. It is surrounded by three layers of high sandstone steps with eight facets. It originally held a brass plate fixed to the top of the pedestal.
