Magnolia Cottage is situated within the North-East section of the estate and is thought to have been constructed around 1859, a few years after the completion of Yaralla House. Built to provide housing for the staff, it was referred to as the Engineer’s Cottage, presumable because the estates engineer resided there.

The cottage is a single-storey Edwardian style construction with a steep pitched, terracotta tile roof and distinctive verandah. It is marked by a central gable flanked by two brick masonry chimneys.

In 2004, following restoration work, the Kalparrin Day Centre was opened in Magnolia Cottage to provide respite day care for people living with dementia, their carer and carer support.
