District opens new clinic to provide COVID-19 vaccines.

Sydney Local Health District has opened another COVID-19 vaccination clinic, to further boost its capacity to protect the tens-of-thousands of people who are eligible to book priority appointments to be immunised.

The newest clinic, at Waterview in Bicentennial Park, is open seven days a week and can provide up to 4000 Pfizer vaccines a day.

Waterview's Managing Director Theodore Drivas and his family donated the venue to NSW Health for use as a vaccination clinic.

"In order to have the state back up and running and to get back to normality we've got to accept the fact that we've got to work together. And, working together means we've all got to do our bit and that's what we've done here at Waterview," Mr Drivas said.

Mr Drivas was the first in line to get the jab when the clinic opened its doors this week.

"Everything was fine. Very professional. Very well organised. Went without a hitch," he said.

The District is providing priority vaccines to people aged 16-39 who live in the 12 local government areas of concern.

The LGAs are: Bayside, Blacktown, Burwood, Campbelltown, Canterbury-Bankstown, Cumberland, Fairfield, Georges River, Liverpool, Parramatta, Strathfield and Penrith.

"Everyone who gets vaccinated is making a difference. We're ready. Come and get vaccinated. Let's get back to doing the things we love," said Jessica Pavlidis, a Nursing Unit Manager at the new Clinic.

The clinic's first vaccination appointment is at 730am and the last appointment is at 530pm.

The clinic is located on Bicentennial Drive in the Sydney Olympic Park precinct.

The District has also expanded its operations at Sydney Olympic Park, RPA, Sydney Airport and Canterbury Hospital.

The District is also running a series of pop-up Pfizer vaccination clinics in the community for people who are aged 16 - 39 and live in any of the local government areas of concern.

People are asked to not attend their vaccination appointment if they have any COVID-19 symptoms or have been asked to isolate as a close or casual contact of a confirmed case.
