Benign Gynaecology Research

The Department of Benign Gynaecology is the largest public gynaecology unit in NSW providing a broad scope of surgery including general gynaecology, minimally invasive surgery (robotic-assisted and laparoscopic), urogynaecology and fertility-related surgery. The department consists of over 20 surgical specialists. In February 2023, the first uterine transplant procedure at RPA was performed by leading surgeon Dr Anthony Marren. The department is currently involved in multiple research studies and areas of interest include:

  • Robotic surgery for benign gynaecology
  • On-co fertility database
  • Recurrent miscarriage
  • Benign gynaecology databases.
