Professor Warwick Britton AO FAHMS

Professor Warwick Britton AO FAHMS is Director Research for Sydney Local Health District and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, and head of the Tuberculosis Research Program at the Centenary Institute.

He has a longstanding research interest in the control of tuberculosis and leprosy in high-burden countries. His Laboratory studies the immunological control of tuberculosis and the development of new vaccine strategies and drugs to help control this major human infection. Currently he is Chief Investigator on the NHMRC funded Centre for Research Excellence in Tuberculosis Control on Both Sides of our Border.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, Professor Britton leads the development, implementation and monitoring of the Sydney Local Health District Research Strategic Plan and oversees the development and governance of research within the District. He provides leadership in scholarship and in the interface between research, policy and practice to external organisations at state, national and international level.
