Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service Research

The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) conducts research into the mental health of children and adolescents.

Our research staff have a diverse range of interests and research projects underway and in development. Research themes include: attachment and the refugee family and the impact of prolonged visa insecurity, obsessive-compulsive disorder in adolescents, delirium in neonates, six-month qualitative follow-up of the experience of young people who have been admitted to the non-acute rehabilitation unit and their families, and the use of wearable devices in young people with major psychiatric illness.

Much of the work is conducted in partnership with a range of universities and Local Health Districts.
