Immerse yourself in a live art showcase as Sydney-based artist, Debra Huggins reflects on the seasons through a series of abstract mixed media works.

 

Debra works predominately with abstraction and themes surrounding nature. She holds a Diploma in Ceramics and Fine Arts from TAFE and is currently undertaking an Advanced Diploma of Transpersonal Therapy (Art Therapy) with the College of Complimentary Medicine. In 2023, Debra completed the Arterie Intern Arts & Health Hospital Practices – Design & Delivery Training Program, volunteering across RPA and Chris O’Brien Lifehouse.

Debra’s Artist in Residence project, Seasons will explore her interest in the colours and textures of the Australian Bush. Using acrylic paints, chalk pastels and collage, she hopes to inspire imagination and curiosity. Join Debra every Wednesday during March Arts to learn how she composes her abstract works and invites the hospital community to share their favourite places in nature. Follow along as Debra creates four gestural and expressive paintings depicting spring, summer, autumn and winter.
