Allied Health
Our Allied Health staff are a dynamic, enthusiastic and diverse group of health professionals working in acute, sub-acute and community services. Allied Health staff work as part of multidisciplinary teams with clients or patients to prevent or minimise disability and optimise function at every stage of life.
Allied health includes allied health assistants, art therapists, audiologists, counsellors, diversional therapists, diagnostic imaging medical physicists, exercise physiologists, genetic counsellors, music therapists, nutrition and dietetics, occupational therapists, orthoptics, orthotics and prosthetics, pharmacists, physiotherapists, podiatrists, psychologists, radiographers and sonographers, sexual assault counsellors, social workers, speech pathologists and welfare officers.

Oral Health
Sydney Local Health District is home to Sydney Dental Hospital, which has been serving the community since 1904.
Sydney Dental Hospital is a key driver in shaping oral health and dental care in Australia with a strong focus on oral health promotion.
We provide a range of general and specialist dental services including orthodontics, paediatric dentistry, oral surgery, oral medicine, prosthodontics, periodontics, endodontics, prosthetic laboratory, special care dentistry.
In addition to Sydney Dental Hospital, Oral Health Services operate community-based oral health clinics, providing a broad range of specialist and general dental care for eligible patients across Sydney Local Health District and the northern part of South-Eastern Sydney Local Health District.

In Sydney Local Health District our aspiration is to have the healthiest Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in Australia. Our District has the largest urban Aboriginal population in NSW.
Empowering Aboriginal communities in addressing health inequity remains a prime focus for the District. Helping to ensure culturally safe programs and services meet the needs of Aboriginal people across clinical, non-clinical and support roles is a major priority of our staff.

Graduate Health Management Program
The Graduate Health Management Program grows future leaders and managers for the NSW Health Public System. The program runs for two years and combines practical work experience with the completion of a Masters of Health Policy through the University of Sydney.
Studying the Masters degree will educate you on the core components of leadership and management within a health context. At the completion of the two-year program, you may be offered a six-month work placement within Sydney Local Health District. This will give you the opportunity to consolidate the skills you’ve gained over the duration of the program.
