Sydney Research is a unique collaboration bringing together health, research, academia and industry.

Formed in 2013, Sydney Research was established to optimise and harness expertise and leadership in research, healthcare and education across the Camperdown precinct.

Our Team
Embedding Quality Research
The Embedding Quality Research (EQR) Steering Committee aims to support and strengthen participation in research and the translation of research across the NSW Health System, which will in turn deliver better health outcomes for our communities. The Steering Committee includes the Chief Executive and Research Director from 17 Local Health Districts and Specialty Networks, 3 Advanced Health Research Translation Centres (AHRTCs), as well as NSW Health Pathology, eHealth NSW, Cancer Institute NSW, Agency for Clinical Innovation and the NSW Office of Health and Medical Research (NSW OHMR).
Sydney Research is the administrative body and is actively involved in the Expert Advisory Group. It is progressing an initiative to explore, analyse and recommend solutions to streamline research governance processes across the state in partnership with OHMR, Chrysallis Consultants, and the Expert Advisory Group.
Consumer Engagement in Research
Sydney Research plays an active role in driving new initiatives to further strengthen the involvement of consumers and community members as partners in research. We work hand-in-hand with our community volunteers, the District Consumer and Community Participation team, and researchers across and within Sydney Local Health District.
Together, we have published an article in the Australian Health Review about consumers as partners in research and an action plan outlining initiatives to enhance consumer participation.
