About this course
This course provides the learner with a foundational understanding of the key neurobiological and theoretical components of distress. The learner will gain practical strategies to implement with patients who are experiencing distress. The course also explores our own responses when faced with a distressed person and provides practical ways of managing our own responses.
Who should attend?
This course is appropriate for all staff who come in contact with patients in distress.

By the end of this course you will be able to:
- Understand the key neurobiological components of distress and how these impact clinical practice
- Recognise the signs and different levels of distress
- Utilise and implement a range of appropriate therapeutic responses to distress
