Grievances occur in every workplace and handling them positively is important for maintaining a harmonious and productive work environment. Grievance management is all about how well the problems are addressed and solved. This course will enhance your general understanding of the different types of grievances and best practice principles for managing grievances.
Topics covered in this course include early recognition and intervention by encouraging self-resolution for those impacted to minimise unnecessary escalation. You will have opportunity to practise effective facilitation strategies to promote productive conversations while managing negative or problematic responses using tailored case studies.

By the end of this course you will be able to:
- Distinguish grievances from other more serious work issues.
- Address grievances early and effectively.
- Build competence and confidence in recognising and applying grievance resolution strategies, including coaching staff (where applicable) to resolve grievances by themselves.
- Facilitate a resolution-focused discussion to establish shared agreement between two staff members.
- Recognise when a grievance needs to be escalated and the steps to be taken.
