Would you like to improve your skills with Microsoft Excel?

This course will provide you with a strong foundational knowledge of Microsoft Excel and the essential concepts of working with spreadsheets.

Delivered by an experienced Microsoft Office trainer (in person at our Rozelle Computer Training Lab), this course will take you through the basics and will make you feel more confident with the foundations.

As a participant, on course completion, you will receive a manual to provide you with additional guidance for use in the workplace.

Who should attend?

This course is appropriate for any staff member working with Microsoft Excel.

What will you learn?

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  1. Navigate the Excel screen
  2. Insert rows and columns
  3. Insert tabs/worksheets
  4. Use scroll bars and split screen
  5. Save files
  6. Cut, copy, paste and format painter
  7. Format: cell fonts, alignment, numbers, width and height, styles, dates versus serial numbers
  8. Apply themes
  9. Apply conditional formatting
  10. Insert tabs, rename and colour tabs
  11. Set up page orientations, print area, page breaks, print titles, headers/footers
  12. View worksheets
  13. Understand page layouts (normal, page layout and page break preview)
  14. Zoom
  15. Hide rows/columns
  16. Freeze panes
  17. Outline, group and ungroup
  18. Subtotal after sorting
  19. Customise views
  20. Locking cells from change and protecting the sheet
  21. Share your workbook
  22. Use workspaces
