
Virtual Fracture Clinic
The Virtual Fracture Clinic provides you access to a physiotherapist using video call or telephone. Your care plan will be developed by an Orthopaedic Specialist and the physiotherapist.
The Virtual Fracture Clinic allows you to receive care from home or work without needing to visit an in-person fracture clinic.
The clinic is open Monday to Friday, 8.30am-4.30pm. You can call us on 1800 325 065 (option 2) or 0439 402 651.
This is a free service.
If you prefer not to receive virtual care, please talk to your treating clinician.

Eligibility
To be eligible for this service, you must have the following:
- an acute (<6 week old) simple fracture that can be managed using a removable orthoses (such as a shoulder sling, CAMboot or wrist splint)
- access to a phone and within New South Wales at the time of consultation
- a radiology scan or report to confirm the nature of the injury
- a referral from a General Practice or hospital within Sydney Local Health District
You will not be eligible if you have the following:
- a complex or significantly displaced fracture, including pathological, open, unstable, spinal/lumbosacral, osteochondral defects or stress fractures
- an injury requiring a plaster cast or surgery
- finger, metacarpal or certain hand injuries, including scaphoid fractures
What to expect
You will have regular virtual appointments with a physiotherapist.
The physiotherapist might ask you to position your camera so that they can see your injury. If you need help doing this, please ask a family member or friend to be there at the start or during your appointment.
24/7 support
Outside the clinic hours you can call the Virtual Care Centre on 1800 325 065 at any time. Please let us know if you need an interpreter or have special needs, for example, hearing problems. Psychology and Social Work Services are also available.
All Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients are offered cultural support from Aboriginal Health Workers.
How to access
Referrals are accepted from hospitals & General Practices within Sydney Local Health District (map). See the Information for Professionals page.
Patients who do not live within Sydney Local Health District should contact their local hospital or General Practitioner to organise a follow-up for your injury.
Patients who want to see an Orthopaedic Surgeon at the in-person fracture clinic should speak to their General Practitioner or referring clinician. Contact the respective services if you need to reschedule your appointments at the in-person fracture clinics:
