Midwifery Care

The RPA Virtual Hospital Midwifery Service provides antenatal care and support to pregnant women and people with hyperemesis gravidarum or COVID-19.

Our service also provides antenatal and postnatal support to pregnant women and people in Far West Local Health District who have been referred to the service by a health professional.

What to expect

Midwifery support

You will have access to a registered midwife Monday to Friday between 8am–4.30pm. To contact your midwife or to ask any questions about rpavirtual, call the Virtual Care Centre on 1800 325 065 and select Option 3.

24/7 nursing support

You will also have access to a nurse in our Virtual Care Centre 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by calling 1800 325 065. Please let us know if you need an interpreter or have special needs such as hearing problems. Psychology and social work services are also available.

All Aboriginal patients are offered cultural support from Aboriginal Health Workers.

Daily surveys (Hyperemesis Gravidarum only)

If you have Hyperemesis Gravidarum, you will receive daily electronic surveys via GoShare (email or SMS) to monitor your symptoms.

A Virtual Care Centre midwife will review your results and provide education and support to help you manage your symptoms.
