Medication Monitoring: Tuberculosis

RPA Virtual Hospital provides medication monitoring for patients with tuberculosis (TB) so they can take their medication at a time and place that suits them.

What to expect

Patients with tuberculosis will receive virtual daily directly observed treatment. This means you can take your medication when and where you want with the support of a virtual nurse.

Your RPA Hospital tuberculosis team will let you know when you are ready to receive care from rpavirtual. You will then receive a phone call from the Virtual Care Centre to organise your virtual directly observed treatment appointments.

During business hours, please contact the RPA Tuberculosis Clinic if you have questions about medication side effects. Outside of business hours, please contact the Virtual Care Centre on 1800 325 065.

24/7 support

As an rpavirtual patient, you will have access to a nurse in our Virtual Care Centre 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by calling 1800 325 065. Please let us know if you need an interpreter or have special needs such as hearing problems. Psychology and social work services are also available.

All Aboriginal patients are offered cultural support from Aboriginal Health Workers.
