Professor Tamera Corte
Director of Interstitial Lung Disease, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital; NHMRC Leadership Fellow; Chief Investigator, Centre of Research Excellence for Pulmonary Fibrosis, University of Sydney
Tamera Corte, MBBS BSc(Med) FRACP PhD, is a Consultant Respiratory Physician and Director of Interstitial Lung Disease in the Department of Respiratory Medicine at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, and Clinical Professor at the University of Sydney. She is Chief Investigator on the Centre of Research Excellence for Pulmonary Fibrosis, which strives to improve and extend the lives of patients living with pulmonary fibrosis through the development of a comprehensive and integrated program of basic and clinical research and education across Australia. She is the founding Chair of the Steering Committee for the Australian Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis Registry, the Australasian Interstitial Lung Disease Registry, and leads her clinical and translational Pulmonary Fibrosis research group at the University of Sydney.
Prof Corte trained in respiratory medicine at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. She served as Clinical Fellow in Interstitial Lung Disease at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London with Professor Athol Wells, and earned a doctor of philosophy degree in the identification of pulmonary vascular dysfunction in interstitial lung disease. Clinical Associate Professor Lauren Troy
MBBS BMedSci FRACP PhD
Lauren Troy is a senior staff specialist in respiratory medicine. She graduated from the University of Sydney in 2003, with subsequent clinical training at St George and Royal Prince Alfred Hospitals. She obtained her fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2012 and was conferred her PhD in 2017. She teaches for the Sydney University Medical School and the Masters of Internal Medicine programs, and provides education for junior doctors and vocational trainees across many forums.
Associate Professor Troy has clinical and research expertise in interstitial lung diseases and interventional pulmonology, sitting on multiple Australasian and International Guideline Task Forces in these areas. She had a leadership role in the RPA Hospital and Sydney Local Health District COVID-19 pandemic response. She has recently been appointed Co-Director of the newly established RPA Hospital Institute for Academic Medicine.
Dr Helen Jo
MBBS Bsc(Med) FRACP PhD
Helen Jo is a respiratory physician who graduated from the University of New South Wales in 2007 with a degree in Medicine. She completed her respiratory training in 2014 through both Concord Repatriation General Hospital and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPA).
In 2018, Helen completed her PhD through the University of Sydney, where she conducted research on markers of disease progression in IPF. She currently holds a staff specialist position at RPA Hospital and is a senior clinical lecturer with the University of Sydney. Helen is actively involved in teaching. She also has numerous publications in peer-reviewed medical journals and has spoken at national and international conferences.
Helen is a dedicated respiratory physician with expertise in diagnosing and treating a range of respiratory conditions, with a particular focus on interstitial lung diseases.
Dr Adelle Jee
MBBS FRACP Phd
Dr Adelle Jee is a consultant Respiratory and Sleep Physician. She graduated from the University of Western Australia and completed her Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in Sydney, Australia. Dr Jee completed a PhD in Interstitial Lung Disease, with a focus on clinical and translational research in connective tissue disease or autoimmune associated interstitial lung disease, at the University of Sydney. In 2021-22, she completed a Clinical Fellowship and worked as a Consultant Physician in Interstitial Lung Disease at The Royal Brompton Hospital, London, United Kingdom. Dr Jee is also a Staff Specialist and the Clinical Lead for Interstitial Lung Disease at Sutherland Hospital.
Dr Alan Teoh
MBBS Bsc(Med) FRACP
Dr Alan Teoh is a Respiratory and Sleep Physician and graduated from University of Tasmania in 2008. He completed his general medical and subspecialty training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and Westmead Hospital. He obtained his fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2017. He is currently pursuing a PhD on idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis through the University of Sydney.
Dr Teoh has clinical experience in managing general respiratory conditions and has both an interest and experience in managing interstitial lung diseases. He is a research fellow at the NHMRC-funded Centre of Excellence in Pulmonary Fibrosis. He is actively involved in teaching and has given national and international talks. He is also involved in translational work, aiming to improve the lives of patients and their carers living with pulmonary fibrosis.
Dr Laura Glenn
BMed MD, FRACP
Laura Glenn is a consultant Respiratory Physician and is also undertaking a PhD through the University of Sydney. She graduated from the University of New South Wales in 2013, subsequently trained in Sydney, Dubbo and Alice Springs as a medical registrar before undertaking advanced training in Respiratory Medicine at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. She was admitted to Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2020.
Her research focuses on the use of novel diagnostic tests in interstitial lung disease, investigating previously unidentified or poorly understood pathobiologic pathways and biomarkers in interstitial lung disease such as idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. She hopes that it will contribute to more easily accessible, precise, and safe diagnostic pathways for patients.
Dr Aruvi Thiruvarudchelvan

Aruvi Thiruvarudchelvan (Aruvi Thiru) is a Sydney-based Respiratory and Sleep physician with extensive experience in public and private clinical work.
Having initially trained in psychology, Aruvi graduated from her medical degree at the University of Sydney in 2010, and undertook training in Sydney, regional NSW, and Alice Springs prior to commencing advanced training in Respiratory and Sleep medicine. She was admitted to Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2019 after undertaking advanced training at Concord, Bankstown, and St Vincent’s Hospitals in Sydney.
Aruvi is a VMO in Interstitial Lung Diseases at RPA, where her work involves managing Interstitial Lung Disease patients in the Clinic, and Interstitial Lung Disease clinic trials work. She also maintains a lively private practice in general respiratory and sleep medicine, including fortnightly clinics in Wagga Wagga.
Aruvi’s interests include interstitial lung diseases, occupational lung diseases and sleep medicine, in addition to general respiratory medicine.
Associate Professor Edmund Lau
BSc, MBBS, PhD FRACP
Edmund Lau is a clinician-researcher in the field of respiratory medicine. He is currently a Senior Staff Specialist at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Sydney. He is the respiratory lead of the Pulmonary Hypertension service. He has published over 100 manuscripts and book chapters, mostly on the topic of pulmonary vascular disease. His research has consistently been published in high impact international journals.
He is currently the Medical Director of the Australian and New Zealand Bi-National Pulmonary Hypertension Registry.
Rheumatology
Dr Matthew JS Parker
MBChB MRCP (Ed.) FRACP
Dr Parker graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2008 before completing his MRCP(UK) in Southampton, UK. He undertook his Rheumatology Advanced Training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPA) and St George Hospital before traveling to the University of Manchester as a Clinical Research Fellow in 2017. He completed his specialist training in Rheumatology in 2017 and has been a Staff Specialist in Rheumatology at RPA Hospital since 2018. He was appointed Head of Department in 2023.
He has particular interests in muscle disease and connective tissue diseases. He is currently enrolled in a PhD investigating connective tissue disease-associated interstitial lung disease. He has multiple peer-reviewed research articles and book chapters and has been an invited speaker at numerous scientific meetings. He was awarded the Leanne Stafford Award in 2017, the Brian Eaton Memorial PhD Scholarship in 2019 and the Australasian Rheumatology Association New Investigator Award in 2023.
Palliative and Supportive Care
Dr Anthoulla Mohamudally

Anthoulla Mohamudally is Head of Department, Palliative and Supportive Care at RPA Hospital and Clinical Lecturer at Sydney University. She obtained her medical degree from Barts and the London School of Medicine, University of London, UK in 1996 and gained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 2000. Anthoulla migrated to Australia in 2001 completing basic physician training at RPA Hospital and advance training in Palliative Medicine through the Sydney Institute of Palliative Medicine (Fellowship 2009). She was the specialist with Territory Palliative Care NT for four years caring for paediatric and adult patients in regional and remote settings with a strong focus on multidisciplinary management of Aboriginal patients. Anthoulla returned to Sydney in 2014 as a specialist with HammondCare; with a multidisciplinary team she implemented a Breathlessness Program aiming to improve the quality of life of patients with advanced lung disease or cancer. Anthoulla was a specialist at Royal North Shore Hospital before joining RPA Hospital in 2021 as Head of Department in Palliative and Supportive Care.
Anthoulla is co-chair of the RACP Training Committee in Palliative Medicine and Lead in Clinical Diploma training. She chairs the RPA Hospital End of Life Committee.
Genetics
Kathleen Le Marqand
Genetic Counsellor
BSc, Grad Dip Genetic Counselling
Kathleen is a certified genetic counsellor and Fellow of the Human Genetic Society of Australasia (FHGSA). Kathleen is a Senior Genetic Counsellor in the Sydney Local Health District and works primarily at RPA Hospital in general and prenatal genetics and is responsible for the provision of genetic counselling services across multiple adult speciality genetic clinics.
Kathleen had the opportunity to work and manage a Fetal Medicine and Genetic clinic in Dubai, UAE for 5 years and is also a lecturer for the UTS Genetic Counselling Masters course and clinical supervisor to genetic counselling students.
Kathleen is a Director on the Board for Genetic Alliance Australia which is a not-for-profit organisation that provides support for individuals and families affected by rare genetic conditions and sits on several professional committees for the regulation of genetic counsellors in Australasia.
