Where do you work in Sydney Local Health District?

Child Sexual Assault Counselling Service and Safe Wayz Program (Problematic & Harmful Sexual Behaviour), Child Protection Strategy Unit, Violence Abuse & Neglect Service.

What do you do?

As the clinical lead, my role provides clinical leadership, operational management and oversight to the Child Sexual Assault Service (CSACS) and Safe Wayz Program.  I also provide direct clinical care and advice to other health workers and government and non-government workers in the District.

Why do you do what you do?

My role aligns with my values and ethical practice and I feel honoured to support children and young people and their families and carers.

What’s the best thing about your workplace?

My clients and colleagues (including my dog under our Pets at Work program) .

What’s the nicest thing a colleague has ever done for you?

I am lucky to work with an awesome team of colleagues who do nice things for me every day, like always checking in with each other and going above and beyond in their work.

What inspired you to join the People Matter Committee?

I think hearing the voices of workers is really important and this is one way to gather data from a large number of staff within a fixed time period.  I know that in Community Health Services our leaders read all the data collected and work hard to respond to feedback.
