Day Therapy Centre
The Day Therapy Centre provides outpatient treatments, so patients can receive therapy and return home the same day.
Services
The Day Therapy Centre provides:
- chemotherapy and immunotherapy
- infusions and blood transfusions
- supportive treatments and intravenous (IV) therapies, such as Zometa, iron infusions, electrolyte replacement, and IV fluids, to support patient health during treatment.
Care is provided by experienced nurses who work closely with medical teams and specialise in day treatment therapies. They ar highly trained and experienced in:
- administering cancer and infusion treatments
- managing intravenous lines and ports
- monitoring patient comfort and safety during treatment
Centre expansion
The Day Therapy Centre has recently expanded to better meet patient needs in the following ways:
- more treatment chairs, allowing us to care for more people each day
- reduced waiting times for treatment
- more patients can receive treatment as outpatients instead of staying in hospital
- greater comfort and improved access to care
What to expect on the day
When you arrive:
- Reception and nursing staff will welcome you and guide you through your visit
- You will be shown to a comfortable treatment chair
- Your nurse will explain your treatment and answer any questions. They are there to support you — please let your nurse know if you feel unwell, anxious, or have questions at any time
- We will monitor you closely throughout your therapy
Tea, coffee, and light refreshments are available, and volunteers may assist during your visit.
Opening hours and location
The Day Therapy Centre is open at the following times:
- 8:30am to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday
- 8:00am to 4:30pm, Saturday
