Breast Care Nurses
A Breast Care Nurse is a registered nurse who has undergone specialised training in breast cancer nursing.
Our team of breast care nurses at Concord Cancer Centre support people with breast cancer, their family and carers right across the cancer journey. They:
- Provide support, information and education from the time of diagnosis and through each treatment stage including surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and hormone therapy
- Coordinate care and communicate with other health care professionals working within the cancer care team
- Provide emotional support during the hospital admission period
- Manage wound care following surgery or procedures
- Connect people to support services within the hospital and community
- Provide information about clinical trials and treatment options
Contact and referrals
The Breast Care Nurse service is available to all patients and families of those attending Concord Hospital and Concord Cancer Centre. Services are provided Monday to Friday, please listen to the phone message for specific information.
