About this course

This course is designed to develop the skills and competencies of staff in Manual Handling, preparing them to take on the role of Manual Handling Workplace Assessors (MHWA). MHWAs play a vital role in supporting the Sydney Local Health District’s commitment to maintaining a safe workplace, by helping meet legislative requirements related to manual handling. 

The course covers a range of essential topics, including the responsibilities of a Manual Handling Workplace Assessor, factors that influence manual handling risks, the principles of manual handling, risk management practices, and conducting manual handling assessments.
