About this course
The Emergency Department Violence Prevention and Management physical skills workshop briefly revises the pre-requisite modules with a focus on learning and practicing personal safety and team restraint techniques. It provides you with the required knowledge and skills for patient-centred care and safe working environments.

Who should attend?
Staff currently working in emergency departments such as nurses, allied health, medical staff, security staff and others involved with a security or duress response.
What will you learn?
By the end of this course you will be able to:
- Describe the importance of self, environment and others in relation to violence prevention and management
- Apply a risk assessment approach to preventing and responding to workplace violence
- Use techniques and restraints to keep you and others safe when responding to a violent person.
