About this course

This short course introduces eight principles of improvement science that you can readily implement in your everyday work environment.

This virtual session is an alternative to completing the e-learning pathway modules of Foundations for Healthcare Safety and Quality.

Who should attend?

This course is appropriate for all staff clinical and non-clinical within Sydney Local Health District. 

What will you learn?

By the end of this course you will be able to:

  • Describe the importance of each dimension of quality: safety, effectiveness and appropriateness, patient centred care, timeliness and accessibility, efficiency and equity 
  • Discuss local workplace examples from each dimension of quality including those that are working well
  • Identify local workplace opportunities for improvement regarding each dimension of quality
  • Apply local workplace measures relating to each dimension of quality
  • Appreciate and discuss the importance of improving quality and safety of care and service delivery.
