About this course
This one day program allows you opportunities to reflect upon theory from module 1. The program is centred around case study analysis, case formulation and considers the development of consistent management strategies in working with the Borderline Personality Disordered client.
Who should attend?
This program is designed for nursing and allied health staff who work in inpatient environments and would like to practice and enhance their understanding and management of Borderline Personality Disorder. Participants are required to complete module 1 as a pre-requisite for this course.
What will you learn?
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Formulate a management plan based upon the principles of relationship management (Dawson).
- Distinguish behaviours of Borderline Personality Disorders and consider management strategies that work towards therapeutic outcomes
- Evaluate management strategies for clients who have Borderline Personality Disorder
- Respond to clients in a therapeutic manner who have patterns of behaviour that are diagnostically characteristic of Borderline Personality Disorder
- Consider strategies that support their clinical and interpersonal relationship with Borderline Personality Disordered clients.
