About this course
This course aims to expand your clinical and psychosocial knowledge and skills in assessing, supporting, and managing patients with delirium. There is a focus on reducing associated risks and adverse outcomes for these vulnerable patients.

- Conduct risk assessment utilising standardised assessment tools to identify delirium
- Recognising the barriers to assessing the older person and identify strategies to overcome these barriers
- Identify and evaluate clinical risks associated with delirium
- Develop and implement effective management plans for patient with acute confusion and delirium
- Recognise clinical signs of polypharmacy and poor medication management, understanding impact on patient care and outcomes
- Identify clients at risk of challenging behaviours (such as wandering or aggression) and implement appropriate risk management strategies
