Sydney Dental Hospital has been serving the local community since 1904. The Hospital is a centre of excellence and throughout its history has been a key driver in shaping oral health and dental care in Australia. Sydney Dental Hospital is committed to providing high quality dental services to our local community, with a strong focus on patient and family-centred care.

Sydney Dental Hospital is part of Sydney Local Health District and is one of two major providers of public Oral Health Services in NSW. We provide a range of general and specialist dental services including orthodontics, paediatric dentistry, oral surgery, oral medicine, prosthodontics, periodontics, endodontics, prosthetic laboratories, special care dentistry and Royal Prince Alfred Dental Clinics. We also provide support services to our patients including nutrition, social work and legal services.

Sydney Dental Hospital is a major teaching facility with strong research and training links to the University of Sydney, University of Newcastle, and TAFE NSW. The Hospital plays a significant role in the development of the next generation of dental and oral health professionals through specialist mentor and graduate programs, as well as Dental Assistant Traineeships for Aboriginal Staff.

Our Oral Health Service also operates community based Oral Health Clinics, providing general services for patients across the Sydney Local Health District catchment area (view by postcode).
