About

The RPA Rheumatology Department provides expert care for people with conditions primarily affecting their joints, muscles, blood vessels and bones.

The Department is located at the Institute of Rheumatology and Orthopaedics, Missenden Road, Camperdown.

The RPA Rheumatology Department diagnoses and treats adults with a wide range of common rheumatic diseases that affect the musculoskeletal system.

This includes conditions like arthritis, gout, lupus, myositis, vasculitis and other autoimmune disorders.

Our specialists demonstrate excellence in patient-centred care, helping patients reduce pain, improve function and enhance quality of life.

We operate a suite of services and outpatient clinics to provide specialised care for patients.

We work closely with RPA’s Orthopaedics Department as well as Allied Health professionals including dietitians, nutritionists, orthotists and prosthetists, physiotherapists and psychologists.

The Department is a leader in research through our partnerships with RPA’s Institute for Academic Medicine, the Institute for Musculoskeletal Health, the Sydney Musculoskeletal Research Centre and the Charles Perkins Centre at the University of Sydney.

RPA Rheumatology is one of the largest sites for Rheumatology Advanced Training in Australia.
