RPA Hospital Volunteer Program

Here at RPA, you will see many volunteers fulfilling important responsibilities. They donate their time and energy to improving the lives of patients, their families and visitors. Our volunteers are motivated by a special desire to help people.

Are you interested in meeting new people, sharing your skills, and making a difference? You could be just the person we’ve been looking for. We’d like to hear from you.

To become a volunteer at RPA Hospital, you need to be over the age of 18 years and available to volunteer your time for four or more hours a week.

Volunteers are asked to make a commitment to RPA Hospital for a minimum of 12 months and agree to undertake the required training. In addition, current legislation requires that our volunteers undergo a National Criminal Record Check and Working with Children Check.

Volunteering opportunities may include greeting and assisting patients, families and visitors entering our facilities, guiding people around the hospital, assisting in the volunteer stall, supporting departmental office staff, visiting patients and providing practical and emotional support.

Talk to our team today about becoming a volunteer at RPA.

Specialist Palliative Care Volunteer Program

Specialist Palliative Care Volunteers are carefully selected and trained to provide support to an individual with a life threatening or terminal condition. We are looking for volunteers to support and improve the care given by our Sydney Local Health District Community Health Palliative Care team, aiming to enhance the quality of life for clients, families and carers involved in Palliative Care.

Volunteering opportunities may include visiting clients in their homes to provide social support, assisting with special approved tasks or respite for a client's carer.
