The Rainbow Serpent Cultural Garden at Concord Hospital is composed of over 32,000 glass tiles and was designed by Lee Anthony Hampton, a contemporary Aboriginal artist, along with members of our Aboriginal Health staff. It was opened on 30 May 2018, during a local National Sorry Day ceremony.
In 2018, Sydney Local Health District launched Ngurang Dali Mana Burudi—A Place to Get Better. ‘A Place to Get Better’ is a view of our whole community including health services, Aboriginal communities, families, individuals and organisations working in partnership. We want to build a strong system to improve access to equitable living conditions and lifestyle choices and a healthier future for all.
Gudjugudju is considered to be the creator deity by Aboriginal people across the country. It represents the seasons, the land, the rivers, and all Aboriginal tribes and groups.
