About this course
The aim of this workshop is to provide those of you with an interest in cardiology, and no prior experience with an introduction to cardiology.
It will provide you with a fundamental knowledge in a variety of cardiology subspecialties such as structural heart disease, catheterisation lab, coronary care unit, cardiac chronic care, cardiac rehabilitation, and congenital heart disease.

What will you learn?
By the end of this course you will be able to:
- How to describe the basic anatomy and physiology of the heart including blood flow, conduction, and the heart's nerve supply
- Recognise the importance of 12-lead electrocardiogram interpretation to inform interventions and management
- Recognise and escalate abnormal cardiac rhythms to senior clinicians for treatment
- Recognise typical and atypical features of Acute Coronary Syndrome
- Describe the risk factors for cardiovascular disease and the proper preventive strategies and treatments
- Determine, plan and deliver person-centred nursing care to reduce risks and optimise outcomes for patients experiencing cardiac disorders
