RPA Rheumatology receives referrals from health professionals primarily via Sydney HealthPathways. 

Please ensure all referrals include: 

• Referrer’s details (provider number, contact information)
• Patient’s details (full name, address, date of birth, contact information and Medicare/DVA number)
• Reason for referral and key clinical question
• Relevant clinical history and examination findings
• Investigations (including blood tests and imaging where available) 

We strongly encourage providing adequate information on referrals. Incomplete referrals may delay triage and booking. 

Alternatively, referrals can be sent via Healthlink. 

All referrals are triaged by a consultant rheumatologist. Waiting times vary depending on clinical urgency and demand. 

If an immediate review is required, please discuss directly with the on-call Rheumatology Registrar via the RPA Hospital switchboard or refer the patient to the Emergency Department.
